Joseph Obule ODAMA was born on June 21, 1970, and hails from the Bekwarra clan of Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State. He attended Bekwarra Secondary School from 1979 to 1983, Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda from 1989 to 1991, where he obtained a National Diploma in Office Management Technology, and Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma from 1999 to 2005, where he obtained a B.A. International Relations. He obtained a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from Nigeria Defence Academy in 2024.
Odama was enlisted into the Department of State Services in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Officer (ASO) where he rose through the ranks to the position of Director, Internal Security in 2022. He held several appointments including Principal Staff Officer Operations, Local Government Security Chief (LGSC), Assistant Director Security, Taraba State Command, Assistant Director, Admin and Logistics, Service Development Centre Kaduna and Assistant Director Admin and Logistics in Zamfara State Command.
During the period of his Service Career, the officer attended several professional courses including ASO Basic Course, Officers Basic Course, Local Government Security Intelligence Course, Operation Security Course, Senior Intelligence Management Course, Legal Drafting Course, Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC), 13, 2024 at Prestigious National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), Abuja, where he was awarded fellowship of Security Institute “fsi” and National Defence College, Abuja Course No 32, where he was awarded Fellow Defence College “fdc” in 2024.
In August 27th 2024, J.O Odama, fsi+, fdc was appointed as the Commandant, National Institute for Security Studies, Abuja

Hyginus Opoke NGELE, was born on 25th October, 1969, to the family of Chief Paul Ngele ALO (father/late) and Lolo Elom S. NGELE (mother/late). He hails from Acharaukwu Nsokkara community, Ezza South Local Government Area (LGA) of Ebonyi State.
He attended St. Pauls’ Primary School, Amudo Ezza, 1976-1981, where he obtained First School Leaving Certificate. He had his Secondary Education at Ezza High School, Amuzu, Ezza, 1982 – 1986. He attended Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, where he obtained B.Sc. (Hons) in sociology and Anthropology, with Second Class Lower Division in 1994. He also, obtained Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLC) from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria 2011.
He did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Jos, Plateau State in 1994 – 1995, where he had his primary assignment at St. Mulumba College, Zaria Rd, Jos.
He enlisted into the Department of State Services (DSS) on 10th October, 1999, as a Cadet Officer Two (SIOII). He has served in Enugu, Lagos, Benue, Zamfara, Bayelsa, Kogi, Rivers States, as well as the National Headquarters of the DSS, Abuja on three consecutive times. He was the Deputy Director, Administrative and Logistics in Rivers State Command of the DSS. He attended the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) in 2023, he rose to become a member of faculty as a Directing Staff in the Institute. He is currently the Director of Studies.
He has attended several courses on the Service Trade Craft, within and outside the country.
He is married to Stella S. NGELE and the marriage is blessed with children. He enjoys reading, writing, watching football, listening to good music and counting money.

Rafiu Adekunle BOLARINWA was born on 4th February, 1971 to the family of Mr. Jamiyu BOLARINWA (father/late) and Mrs. Safurat BOLARINWA (mother). He hails from Ilawe-Ekiti in Ekiti South West LGA of Ekiti State.
He attended Ausar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Ilawe-Ekiti from 1976-1981, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He had his secondary education at Oniwe Comprehensive High School, Ilawe-Ekiti from 1982-1987 and Corpus Christ College, Ilawe-Ekiti in 1988. He attended Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti and obtained a B.A. (Hons) with Second Class (Upper Division) in Philosophy in 1997.
He did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme in Osun State in 1997/1998, where he had his primary assignment at the ECOWAS and African Affairs Department of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ilesha West LGA. He enlisted in the Department of State Services (DSS) on 10th October, 1999 as a Cadet. He has served in various Commands, as well as the National Headquarters of the Service in Abuja.
In the course of his career in the DSS, he has attended several courses on the Service tradecraft. He was at the prestigious National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) as a Principal Staff Officer and after attending the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) in 2022, he rose to become a member of faculty as a Directing Staff in the Institute. He is currently the Director, Research, Estimates and Library Services and Head of the Post-Graduate School.
He is married to Oluwabunmi BOLARINWA and the marriage is blessed. He enjoys reading, writing, watching wrestling and hanging out with friends.

Foluke Olayemi Arigbede is a native of Omuo Ekiti in Ekiti-East Local Government Area (LGA) of Ekiti State. She was born on 22 July, 1972, at City Hospital, Idiroko, Egbado, Ogun State. She is the daughter of the late Pastor Joseph Akinola Olatise and Deaconess Ronke Tolani Olatise, nee Akinsanya.
She attended Iju/Ishaga Primary School, Lagos State (1977-1983), and later studied at Morocco Comprehensive High School, Somolu/Kosofe LGA, Lagos State (1983-1988). She obtained her OND from Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa State (1992-1994) and her HND in Accounting from Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State (1996-1998). Additionally, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan in 2007.
She enlisted into the Department of State Services (DSS) as a Cadet Officer in October 1999 and has attended courses both within and outside the country, which included Officers Basic Course, Advanced Tradecraft Course, Leadership Training, Senior Intelligence Management Course, Strategic Course for Assistant Directors, Vetting Workshop, amongst others. Through dedication and commitment, she rose to the rank of Deputy Director Internal Security in 2020.
Foluke have worked in various capacities at Lagos State Command 2000-2001, Edo State Command 2001-2002, Oyo State Command 2002-2007, Rivers State Command 2007-2021, where she served until she was appointed as an Assistant Director Internal Vetting at the National Headquarters 2021-2023. She attended the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) in 2023. She rose to become a member of faculty as a Directing Staff in the Institute. She is currently the Director Coordination and Liaison Services.
She is married to Prof. Abiodun Arigbede and the marriage is blessed with children.

Jovina Jovi ISIRAOJIE was born on 22nd February 1972 into the family of late Mr. Eric Jovi SODJE and Mrs Joan Igho SODJE of Orphorigbala, an island in Ughelli South Local Government Area and Aladja in Udu Local Government Area, both in Delta State. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. She also has a Master’s in Business Administration and Management (MBA) from Imo State University, Owerri, Imo state.
Jovina was enlisted into the Department for State Services (DSS) in June, 1999 as a cadet officer. She has been privileged to attend several courses which include: Cadet Officers Basic Course (COBC), Lagos, 1999, Senior Intelligence Management Course (SIMC), Bauchi, 2013; Learning Needs Analysis and Methods Workshop, Centre for Management and Development, Lagos, 2016; Covert Human Intelligence Sources Operation Course, Bauchi, 2019; Developing Critical Skills for Legislative Effectiveness/Constitution Reform – Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), National Assembly, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, 2019 amongst others.
She has served in several Commands including Enugu and Ondo States as well as in Operations, Intelligence, and the Registry at the National Headquarters. She has also had a brief stint in VIP protection, and other ad hoc duties and likewise held numerous positions in the Service, such as: Staff Officer (SO) Media Monitoring and Analysis; Special Assistant (SA) to the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly; Security Liaison Officer (SLO) to National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) and also Special Assistant (SA) on Security and Intelligence to the Deputy Senate President. Recently, Jovina graduated from the prestigious National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), where she bagged “fellow of Security Institute fsi in 2023. Presently, the DGSS in acknowledging her distinct leadership qualities and dedication to duty, appointed her as the Director of Administration, National Institute for Security Studies, Lower Usuma Dam, Abuja, Nigeria since January, 2024.

HUSSAIN ABDULHAMID BALA

Hussain Abdulhamid BALA was born on 8th January, 1968, to the family of Bala ABDULHAMID (father/late) and Khadija Yarinya BALA. He hails from Gurum Community, Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
He attended Gurum Primary School, 1976 – 1982, where he obtained First Leaving Certificate. He had his secondary education at Government Vocational Training Centre Mariga, Niger State, 1982 – 1985. He attended Federal Technical College, Yaba, 1985 – 1988. He attended Abdullahi Wase Polytechnics (School of Technology) 1988 – 1991. He also attended Umar Waziri Federal Polytechnic, Birini Kebbi where he obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) Mechanical Production.
He was enlisted into the Service (Department of State Services) on 1st June, 1992 as Assistant Security Officer (ASO). He served in Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina as well as National Headquarters of the Service Abuja twice. He was Assistant Director (AD) at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) Kano State. He is currently the Director, Technical Services of the Institute (NISS).
He has attended several courses on Service Trade Crafts and those that are technical related.
He is happily married to Halima A. MAHRAZ and blessed with children. He enjoys reading, writing and travelling.

Isah Usman SHUAIBU was born on 25th December 1974 at Jos, in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State. He attended Local Government Education Department (LGED) Primary School Jenta, Jos, (1980 – 1986) and had his Secondary School education at Government Secondary School Jos (1986 – 1992). He later proceeded to Bayero University Kano where he obtained a B.Sc Degree in Accounting (1998), he also holds a Master
Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (2016).
Usman was enlisted into the Department of State Service in 1999. Since his enlistment, he has worked in diverse capacities in various departments of the Service such as; Operations, Intelligence, Finance, Surveillance, VIP Protection and other Adhoc duties.
He also served in various state commands including FCT, Enugu, Kebbi, NHSS, Katsina, Bauch States. He is currently the Deputy Director Finance and Accounts (DDF&A) of the National Institute for Security Studies, Bwari, Abuja.
In the course of his twenty-two years career, USMAN has attended several career progression as well as professional courses, seminars and workshops both within and outside the country.
His hobbies include, reading, travelling, badminton, tennis and football, USMAN is married and the union is blessed with four (4) children.
