It follows therefore that any attempt to study the challenges of governance in contemporary Nigeria must take into account not only the issues of security but also the rising trend of ethnic nationalism and the underlying cultural values. There is also the danger of youth bulge and the attendant youth unemployment and disillusionment. These are the central concerns of this book. This collaborative work is a collection of contributions from carefully selected scholars, political leaders and heads of security and intelligence agencies as well as some traditional rulers.
